THE CitY OF KORTRIJK
With its mix of unique and historic architecture and bustling vibe, Kortrijk has a lot to offer. Take a scenic stroll along the beautiful River Leie that flows through the city and past the Broel Towers; it’s the perfect way to see Kortrijk’s picturesque sights. Then there’s also the Texture Museum, it tells the story of the flax and linen industry… or head for the Kortrijk 1302 multimedia museum.
It isn’t just design or historical sites that makes Kortrijk a trendsetter : the city is also a hot spot for shopping. It was the first city in Flanders with an entirely pedestrian shopping street, and it continues to be one of the best places to shop. The “K” indoor shopping mall is one of the biggest in Belgium and a great example of what’s on offer. In other words, Kortrijk is the ideal place for a stylish weekend shopping spree or relaxing walk alongside the banks of the river Leie.
We believe dining needn’t be expensive to be fine. Kortrijk offers several restaurants from Italian to Thai, Belgian or French cuisine. The restaurants or take-away places are numerous and worth visiting while strolling around the city center. Let us know if you need some tips or advice. We know some great places ;-)
The center of the city has it all—from bespoke boutiques that feature independent designers to thrift stores and craft fairs full of one-of-a-kind finds. The Korte Steenstraat was Belgiums first traffic-free shopping street. In 2010 the mall K opened and offers 34000 square meters of shopping surface, underground parking and events. Every friday shops stay open till 20h.
